Food addiction will claim hundreds of thousands of
victims in the next few years due to the devastating
irreversible consequences of obesity; such as early death,
blindness and amputations from diabetes, paralysis from
stroke, and incapacitation from heart disease. Overweight
issues now plague millions of men, women, and children,
leading to a lifetime of diseases and social ramifications
as they face criticism, isolation and shame. The worst
manifestations of this disease can be solved with the right
information We can use the latest scientific information and
current treatment successes to treat those plagued with food
addiction and offer help and hope to the suffering food
addict.
Kay Sheppard, M.A. is the best-selling author of
Food Addiction: The Body Knows, From the First Bite
and Healing Day by Day. A licensed mental
health counselor and a certified eating disorders
